We were luck enough to be featured on "The Dales" program when we were building the shop, and we knew that it would be shown in the UK last summer..... What we were not expecting is that it would be shown worldwide...... Last summer we had thousands of hits on this website the week it was shown, but we always know when it has been shown elsewhere by the spike in hits that we get at other times... sometimes only finding out where it has been when we receive responses from that country....
Yesterday, we had a visit from a lovely couple, Anne and Duncan, who had seen the program and had put Fabric of the Field in their itinerary, as they knew they were coming to Yorkshire on holiday. Anne is a skilled spinner and dyer, and we talked for ages about our individual interests and where they overlapped.. They both loved my shop, and I was humbled by their visit........
In our conversation it transpired that Duncan had written some books about walking in the area where they live..... it sounded utterly beautiful, and I hope to visit one day.... but as it happens Nigel's daughter and her partner are going to take a trip over there while they are on sabbatical this year... its not too far from where they are living at the moment, so much easier for them to make the jump. Duncan promised to email me with some interesting places which are unmissable, so I can pass them on.......... and where were Anne and Duncan from........ Tasmania!!
