We've been trying to get our lambs out into the field as much as we can but the weather at the moment is too unpredictable.. one minute we have green fields.......... then "this" happens.... it could be gone in an hour.... but the poor sheep have to cope with it on a daily basis... all except our Dorsets.. and Mitsie and Willow who have different needs....
These two are in lamb... Willow is thin, expecting a single lamb in March and needs some tlc.... Mitsie is fat, is expecting triplets in February... won't cope.. and is a worry to be frank... she's never been that maternal... the only lamb she ever loved beyond all reason was Dixie.... and we're still struggling with Max from last year.
We also have a lodger who has taken over the pen from Ellie who is now permanently in with the other lambs... and running rings round them all!! The lodger belongs to a friend in the village, and who doesn't have the same facilities that we are so lucky to have... She is an expectant mum who was'nt thriving very well in the field....... she's expecting quads... poor sausage.. I'm feeding her little and often and she's looking so much better....

Now you'll recognise the monster on the left... what a face! but not the little one on the right... this is one of Phoebe's triplets... lagging behind the other 2 a little so I've been helping her with a bottle every time I feed Ellie... she's called Sweet "P" as she's got a "P" on her bum being Phoebe's lamb and she has a really quiet nature... Ellie is really good with her, she never tries to steal her bottle and doesn't get jealous when we fuss her..... another little triumph for this gang!
