....................oh and I finally found out how to transfer the pics from my phone!!!!
My long suffering partner and I love where we live and our growing flock of Ryeland and Mule sheep. At the rear of our home we tend a pretty cottage garden and at the front, just over the road, a walled and terraced vegetable garden which steps down to Walden Beck. We grow our own fruit and vegetables, and also keep a few hens and hives of bees...... And we run this lovely little country shop!
........Happy Days!
![]() At the beginning of the month we dipped our sheep, all except the ones that we aren't keeping... this included my little treasure, Daisy-May...... the first shock she's has had since her mum, Freckle, decided that she didn't like her, 3 hours after her birth......... the day she went down the front of my fleece, the day she became mine! Just as with Peewee, she has followed me round and has become a real little character. It was a beautiful morning...... we had loaded Daisy's gang into the trailer and had let them out ready for their bath..... Mark had his two enormous tups to do first, so our girls could see what was about to happen......... we sent them all through with Daisy last. Mark was careful to make sure that she could get out of the other end without any mishaps.... We can't have her drowning can we.......... I am always in a mild state of shock when I see the first sheep go in, but they always bob up again and they swim without exception... so I know they will all come out the other end alive and free from any issues... ![]() Daisy was lowered in, back feet first so it's as gentle as possible and then there is the inevitable dunking, twice is the norm, then turned round to face the others and to climb up the steps at the back of the bath and out... She is Dudley's daughter and has inherited his fuzzy fringe... ![]() Daisy stood at the top of the concrete draining ramp to drip and shake with the others, she's the little one with her tail towards us..... None were looking too impressed!! They are a motley crew... all the girls that have needed extra help this year are here... they will grow and fill out, they just need time. When they stopped dripping they were loaded up again and be returned to their field, safe, sound and non the worse for their ordeal...... and as healthy and free from problems as we can get them..... Today she is still the first to the gate for a cuddle and last to leave me........ and it's just the way we both like it! ..... ....................oh and I finally found out how to transfer the pics from my phone!!!!
