So....... with this in mind, Jonty had to be removed from his gang in North Walden. He really couldn't give a monkey's about it actually, being led into the trailer without a second thought...... we stopped half way home to check he was ok, and he just poked his nose up for a rub.
We had decided to pop him in with Dudley and Vincent, as they are nice lads and might like a new friend.... how wrong could we have been... after much licking and circling, they chased him across the field and cornered him behind some machinery....... butting him until he ran away.... we left them for a while to get used to each other and went to remove Eric, Max Bob and Bert from the other lambs to give them some Tlc, as Max isn't thriving as well as he could in the main flock having been removed from Mitsie.
On our return, Vincent and Dudley were at the top of the field on their own and Jonty was chatting to the girls next door...... I went back in the morning and couldn't find him at all!!....... after walking the entire perimeter of the field I found him behind the machinery, on his own, and looking completely dejected......... so I went for the trailer, led him into the barn for a cuddle and then took to to join the youngsters. ....... it was love at first sight... he has settle immediately with Eric becoming his best butting mate... they seem to spend most of their time play fighting with both pawing the ground if the other stops! ... and max is much happier!
.............. and for Mark Coopers monthly mention....... thank you so much for the discarded wooden caravan steps... instead of burning them they will refurbish and make the most brilliant plant stands for outside the our shop..... just have to grow some cottage garden plants for sale now!!
