I wondered if you have ever been up to Walden? Its split into North and South, with Walden Beck running through the center of it... Walden is only accessible through West Burton... and both north and south are eventually dead ends except if you're on foot... but both a delight for either a ride in the car or a walk.
If you have visited the Cauldron Falls at West Burton, you'll have seen where Walden Beck passes. It runs all along the bottom of the village in little steps of froth.. including past the bottom of our vegetable garden...... it's why we have a bench there... its a lovely quiet place...... but also spectacular if its been raining... and a place where our hens have to learn not to jump in as there is a 10 foot drop ... we have had a few rescues over the years but thankfully in calm water.. there is always a certain expression on a hens face when they realise that they are not a duck... eventually it meets Bishopdale Beck and then the Ure at a stoney beached conference in the river... you can walk there too!
Coverdale is just over the hill and is where our two girls from "From the Heart Crafts" live with their families. You can see them together with Marie from Bishopdale Bags and Cheryl from Verminous Hound and many others at Richmond Station on Saturday and Sunday.. there is a Christmas Craft Fair there all weekend......
...oh.. and I've just bumped into James at the barn this morning... our youngsters are getting twice as much food as I think, because there are definitely extra snacks been doled out! (and there are extra cuddles on the side when no one looking!!)
