We had a brilliant evening at a friends house on Saturday... a Strictly Night! Lovely food and great company... and much ranting at the T.V. over their unfair scoring system...... thank you so much.. you know who you are! xxxx Oh and thank you for showing us the photos you took of my little cuddly Tottie... I'd love a copy?
All the Gimmers (and Jonty) are being mollycoddled! The weather was so severe on Sunday evening with freezing horizontal rain that we put them inside the barn again for the night.... they were very grateful to have dry straw beds with hay and clean water on tap, there is no point in having miserable sheep.
Melody always has a wander round the barn on her own and likes to be wherever I am, getting into corners that no other sheep would be let into... its a throwback from the days when she ruled the roost and spent her early weeks at my heel, playing everywhere and running around pulling shapes just for fun and winding up all the ewes in the pens... I love the fact that at 10 months old she hasn't forgotten anything. There is still a coy look on her face that allows her to get away with murder and she still knows that she's my special lamb and can be trusted in ways that the others simply can't! She has never tried to escape or run out onto the road, and still gives the others a filthy look before broadsiding them away from me if they get too close for her liking, and sitting down as near as she can get.... She's always first at the gate and last before I leave, just to touch base and say hello or goodbye... its really sweet. I had to clear out one of her hooves and then spray it last week, and she got really cross with me... it took a little coaxing to get over her paddy but she soon came back, sat down at my side and put her head on my lap... I hope she will be a good mum in the spring.... I think she'll be gentle and loving.. just one lamb to start with though! watch this space in March 2014........
