I walked up with her, stroked her and talked to her and after finding nothing there, gently led her down again to join her friends... It has rained heavily overnight so much of the smell of her lambs has washed away... the more time that she spends today, forgetting her ordeal, the better....... we also have to keep an eye on her udder, as she must not get mastitis..... her udder is enlarged, but not to the extent that to cause too much problem..... we are not giving her too much nutrient, hence feeding her separately..... She didn't go back to her birthing place again, just started to graze with the others..... Fingers crossed she'll be ok!
This morning I went back to the barn to check all the Dorset girls and Vincent, but particularly Molly..... She met me at the barn gate, and had a real fuss... I enticed her out, which wasn't hard, across the yard and into the field with her breakfast, left the field gate open while she was occupied, then went to let the others free....... took a little longer than I'd anticipated as Vincent insisted on nibbling my knuckles as I tried to untie the internal gate, which is tied up with baler twine.... he is so inpatient!... eventually letting the others into the field where all, except Phoebe, ignored their breakfast and went to pinch Molly's...... She wasn't bothered, just wandered up the field again, calling for her lambs....... it's heart breaking.
